Dental Implants
All-on-4
A full arch of fixed teeth carried on four implants. The quoted package covers 8 implants and 24 crowns.
All-on-4 replaces a whole arch using four implants rather than one per tooth. The two rear implants are placed at an angle, which lets them engage denser bone at the front of the jaw and avoids the sinus and nerve. A fixed bridge is then carried on those four points.
How it's done
-
01
Planning scan
CBCT imaging plans the angle and length of each implant against the available bone.
-
02
Extractions if needed
Any remaining unsalvageable teeth are removed at the same appointment.
-
03
Implant placement
Four implants per arch, the rear pair angled. Usually done under local anaesthetic with sedation available.
-
04
Immediate bridge
Where stability allows, a fixed provisional bridge goes on the same day.
-
05
Final bridge
After three to four months of integration, the definitive bridge is fitted.
Who it suits
People who have lost most teeth in an arch, or whose remaining teeth are failing, and who want something fixed rather than a denture.
Where it falls short
Fewer implants means each one carries more load, so bone quality matters more than usual. If one fails the whole bridge is affected, which is why some cases are better served by six.
Recovery
Significant swelling and bruising for up to a week; this is real surgery. Soft diet for six to eight weeks.
