Composite Bonding
Reshaping and closing gaps with composite applied directly to the tooth. No lab work, no temporaries.
Bonding uses the same material as composite veneers, but applied more selectively — closing a gap between two front teeth, rebuilding a chipped corner, or lengthening a tooth that sits short of its neighbours. It is the most conservative cosmetic treatment there is.
How it's done
-
01
Isolation
The tooth is isolated to keep it dry; contamination is the main cause of bonding failure.
-
02
Etch and prime
A mild acid microscopically roughens the enamel so the resin grips.
-
03
Placement
Composite is added where the tooth is deficient and shaped against the neighbouring teeth.
-
04
Cure and finish
Light curing, then contouring and polishing to blend the join.
Who it suits
Single chips, small gaps, uneven edges — anything where the tooth is fundamentally fine and just needs a little added back.
Where it falls short
Not a fix for widespread discolouration or heavily damaged teeth. Bonded edges can chip if you bite your nails or open things with your teeth.
Recovery
None.
