Is dental work in Türkiye worth it?

For a single crown, no. For a full arch, overwhelmingly. The honest answer is arithmetic, and you can do it yourself in about five minutes.

Is dental work in Türkiye worth it?

The fixed cost of getting there

Travel is largely fixed regardless of how much dentistry you have. Return flights run $700 to $1,200 from the United States and $150 to $400 from Western Europe. A week’s accommodation, where it is not included in a clinic package, is $400 to $900.

Call it $1,200 to $2,000 all in from the US for a single trip, and $150 to $700 from the UK. That figure is the same whether you are having one crown or twenty-eight.

The break-even point

One zirconium crown saves about $1,340 against US pricing. That does not cover the trip. Four crowns saves about $5,360, which covers it several times over.

Eight veneers saves roughly $12,800. A twenty-unit Hollywood Smile saves near $32,000. All-on-4 on both jaws saves about $45,000 even after two return trips.

The rough rule: below four units, have it done at home. Between four units and a full arch, it depends on where you live. Above a full arch, the saving dwarfs everything else.

The second trip changes small cases

Implant cases need two journeys, which doubles the fixed cost. Two implants and two crowns saves around $8,600 against US pricing, but costs $2,400 to $4,000 in travel — still clearly worthwhile, though less dramatically than the headline suggests.

For European patients the second trip barely registers. For North American patients it is the main thing that shifts the calculation on mid-sized cases.

What you give up

Proximity, honestly. If an adjustment is needed six weeks later you are a flight from the person who did the work. Featured clinics guarantee their workmanship, typically for five years, and cover the return flight where a remake falls under those terms — but it is still a journey and time off.

You also give up the continuity of a dentist who has known your mouth for a decade. Taking your full clinical file home and having a local dentist review it closes some of that gap.

What you gain besides money

On large cases, speed. Work that would be spread over eight or ten appointments across a year at home is often compressed into a week, because the clinic has an in-house lab and can dedicate consecutive days to one patient.

Volume matters too. Clinics doing full-arch work daily accumulate experience that a general practice placing a handful of implants a year cannot match.

How to work out your own case

Get a written treatment plan from a dentist at home, with the number of units and their prices. Get a quote for the same plan abroad. Add two return flights and accommodation to the second figure if implants are involved, one if not.

If the difference is under $2,000, stay home. If it is over $5,000, the trip pays for itself with room to spare. In between, it comes down to how much you value the convenience of local aftercare.

Common questions

No. A single crown saves around $1,340 against US pricing, which does not cover the flight and accommodation. Small cases are better done at home.

Roughly four units or more. At that point the saving comfortably exceeds a return flight and a week’s stay. Full-arch cases save tens of thousands even after two trips.

The maths is far more favourable. Flights from Western Europe run $150 to $400 return, so even two- or three-unit cases can be worth the journey.

Distance from your clinician if something needs adjusting later. Guarantees cover remakes and, at our featured clinics, the return flight under their terms — but it is still a trip and time off work.
